District Drug De-Addiction Centre Shahjahanpur (DDAC)

A Project by Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan

Established in 1999 under the visionary leadership of Dr. Divakar Sukul (Clinical Psychologist), Kamkus Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre (IRCA) stands as a symbol of hope for individuals battling substance addiction. Operated by Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan, this centre in Shahjahanpur has become a trusted haven for those seeking recovery and rehabilitation.

Free and Accessible Care

Kamkus DDAC eliminates financial barriers by offering completely free services, including medication, counselling, and therapeutic support. This ensures that every individual, regardless of economic background, can receive quality addiction care.

  • Outpatient Department (OPD)
Designed for individuals who benefit from structured therapy while continuing their daily routines at home.
  • Individual & Group Counselling
Provided by senior doctors and psychologists, these sessions help identify root causes and develop effective coping mechanisms.
  • Yoga & Meditation
Integrated wellness sessions that support stress management, mindfulness, and emotional stability.

Our Extended Social Commitment

At Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan, our mission extends beyond addiction recovery. We are committed for creating a just, informed, and healthier society.

Combating Drug Abuse

Through the Drug-Free India Campaign and the ongoing operation of the Shahjahanpur DDAC, we work actively to rehabilitate individuals with addiction and reintegrate them into society. Our credibility was reaffirmed when we were entrusted by the government to operate the District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC).

HIV/AIDS Awareness and Care

As a registered partner with NACO and UPSACS, we run a Targeted Intervention Program (TI) to promote awareness and provide treatment to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.

Legal Literacy and Empowerment

We have established a law college offering legal aid services, helping citizens understand and exercise their rights.

Skill Development for Caregivers

Since 2019, we have been conducting certified training programmes for caregivers, enabling them to effectively support persons with disabilities.

Community Outreach & Awareness

Public Education Initiatives

Kamkus regularly organises workshops and seminars to raise public awareness, such as:

  • World No Tobacco Day Workshop
  • International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Seminar

These events educate the public about the harmful effects of drug use and encourage timely intervention.

Expansion and Collaboration

Based on Kamkus’ success, proposals have been submitted to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE) to operate additional District Nasha Mukti Kendras in Shahjahanpur and Baghpat. This reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening India’s fight against drug addiction.
