Over the past 22 years, Bhagirath Special School has transformed the lives of more than 1,100 students with disabilities. In collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the school has successfully provided primary education and vocational training, empowering these individuals to become self-sufficient.
A Year in Review (2022–23)
- Diverse Student Body: The school currently serves 150 students with a wide range of disabilities—including Intellectual Disability (ID), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Muscular Dystrophy (MD), Hearing Impairment (HI), and Orthopedic Handicap (OH).
- Dedicated Staff: A team of 14 qualified teachers provides specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique needs. Additionally, 10 assistants support teachers and students, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Celebrating Achievements
- Special Olympics Participation: Students actively participate in training camps organized by Special Olympics Bharat, promoting physical activity and sportsmanship.
- International Day of Persons with Disabilities: On December 3, 2022, students proudly displayed their talents by winning medals at a sports competition organized by the Education Department in honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
- Community Participation: Students participated in a foot rally on Martyrs' Day, demonstrating their commitment to community involvement and social inclusion.

With strong support from the Health Department, the Sansthan has successfully achieved the goals set by UPSACS and NACO through their Targeted Intervention (TI) programs. This success highlights the Sansthan's dedication and effectiveness in combating HIV/AIDS.
Promoting Overall Public Health
The Sansthan recognizes that public health extends beyond a single disease. It organizes various awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars, and rallies to educate communities about a broad range of infectious diseases. Additionally, it conducts health checkup camps to ensure accessible preventive and diagnostic healthcare services.
Through targeted interventions, widespread awareness efforts, and community-focused health initiatives, Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan plays a vital role in safeguarding the health and well-being of communities across the Ghaziabad and Sonbhadra districts.
Successful Training and Certification
Fifty participants successfully completed the program and received their CRE certificates, equipping them with updated knowledge and skills in the field of rehabilitation.
