Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan's Bhagirath Special School, established in 1999, stands as a beacon of hope for children with disabilities from underprivileged backgrounds. Comprehensive Support:

Free Education: Bhagirath Sewa Sansthan recognizes the transformative power of education. The school provides completely free education, ensuring accessibility for children from Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Low-Income Group (LIG) families.

Transportation: The Sansthan understands the challenges faced by families and offers transportation facilities to ensure children can attend school conveniently.

Mid-Day Meals: Nutritious mid-day meals are provided, addressing the nutritional needs of students and promoting their overall well-being.

Healthcare Services: Essential healthcare services are readily available within the school, ensuring the physical and mental health of the students.

Physiotherapy and Counseling: Bhagirath Special School offers comprehensive support by providing free physiotherapy sessions overseen by qualified professionals. These sessions help improve motor skills and manage physical limitations. Additionally, psychological counselling is available to address emotional needs and promote mental well-being.

Skilling for the Future:

The school curriculum extends beyond academics, incorporating vocational training programs. This equips students with valuable skills that can translate into future employment opportunities and financial independence.

Success Stories and Achievements:

Over the past 22 years, Bhagirath Special School has transformed the lives of more than 1100 students with disabilities. In collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the school has successfully provided primary education and vocational training, empowering these individuals to become self-sufficient.

A Year in Review (2022-23):

Diverse Student Body: Currently, 150 students with various disabilities (including Intellectual Disability (ID), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Muscular Dystrophy (MD), Hearing Impairment (HI), and Orthopedic Handicap (OH) are enrolled in the school.

Dedicated Staff: A team of 14 qualified teachers provides specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student. Additionally, 10 assistants support the teachers and students, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Celebrating Achievements:

Special Olympics Participation: Students actively participate in training camps organized by Special Olympics Bharat, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and physical activity.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Bhagirath Special School students proudly showcased their talents and athletic abilities by winning medals at a sports competition organized by the Education Department on December 3, 2022, in honour of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Community Participation: Students actively engaged in a foot rally on Martyrs' Day, demonstrating their spirit of inclusion and community engagement.
